About WITSML and the PPDM Data Model
The Public Petroleum Data Model (PPDM), created by the Professional Petroleum Data Management Association, is a relational data model that covers over 50 subjects in the Exploration and Production business. It is widely used by operators as the foundation for Master Data Management strategies, and as the underpinning data management strategy for industry products and services.
The Well Information Transfer Markup Language, WITSML , created by Energistics, is a data transfer standard widely used in the movement of information from the oilfield to the office, and for internal data transfer. The current inventory of WITSML standard capabilities include: drilling well site to office data transfers, completion, wire line and LWD well Log, and calculated and planned well trajectories.
This is the follow up meeting to the January 17th meeting. Agenda to be posted early March.
